I had the same problems – and still do – with helping my brother, who has become disabled. He, too, was a strong hard-working independent guy, like Captain Henry. It’s difficult trying to help them have a life that feels at least a little bit like their former one. There is a somewhat new professional – Patient Advocate – who can be very helpful when trying to find out what to do about doctors, insurance, assisted living, nursing homes, etc, etc.. And I’ve learned a lot on my own, by constant searching. I can send some information to you to add to your Elder Resources.

We are finding it very difficult to find “entertainment” he can enjoy.
